Winterizing Plants

Check out the list below to help you prepare for the wintertime if you have added new plants or trees:

-Check your trees for dead limbs or signs of weakness: This should be easy as all the leaves have fallen off and the bare branches can tell you how healthy the tree really is.

-Prune your trees properly: Keep an eye out for dead branches and leaves and prune from there to keep your tree or plant healthy.

-Keep plants well hydrated: In the winter is when your plants and new trees can become very dehydrated. Be sure to water and take care of new plants so they will be able to be self sufficient as they get older.

-Protect your plants from damage: Burlap plays a big role in helping with this. You are able to make a little fort with stakes and burlap. This will protect the plant from wind damage.
