Organic Vs. Inorganic Mulch

First off the difference between organic and inorganic:

Organic: This type of mulch use to be living material and this will decompose over time. During their decomposition vital nutrients will be added back to your soil. Organic mulch is made of the following: compost, pine needles, straw, grass clippings and newspaper.

Inorganic: This type of mulch is inert materials that have not originated from living material. Inorganic mulch is made of the following: stone, plastic and geotextile.

The only downside I am aware of is when using organic, although it’s amazing for your soil it attracts rodents, and you have to keep re-applying due to the decomposition. It is a lot cheaper than inorganic.

The choice is yours! Be sure to mulch this season to make your yard pop with color. Feel free to ask any questions; or if you’re looking to have someone to mulch for you this spring season be sure to keep EddyBrook in mind.
