Hello!
We wanted to kick off our Eddybrook Community Spotlight with Together We Grow Gardens. Their motto is Growing Licking County one garden at a time. Searching for a community garden on-line because I have been seeing them pop up here and there around a county I grew up in - Franklin; I stumbled upon Together We Grow Gardens.
They are currently up to 5 different gardens and have two programs running. The programs are: Here We Grow Gardens and Power of Plants. Here We Grow Gardens is a program for individuals with developmental disabilities. These individuals learn how to operate the greenhouse, grow flowers and vegetables, and do garden activities and crafts. Power of Plants reaches elementary through high school students. Here they have the opportunity to learn about gardening, how to operate a greenhouse, the benefits of composting, and helping with projects in the community gardens.
Eddybrook will hold a staff volunteer day in March to help get their gardens ready for planting and we are so excited about it! Volunteering and seeing the inspiration behind the gardens has us pumped! If you are interested in volunteering, getting your hands dirty in the gardens or would like to make a monetary donation please visit their website.
