Hello friends!
What a wild year this has been and now we are in the middle of autumn. Brisk temperatures and winds, leaves everywhere - it’s time to prepare our outdoor spaces for winter time. Fall clean ups are critical in the health of your lawn and plants. Here’s a to do list of items to complete for your clean up:
Remove debris such as major sticks, items that may have blown in from the neighbors yard, etc.
Take out any dead shrubs and trees - now is the perfect time to replace them!
Blow out or remove all leaves from your plant and flower beds.
Mow your yard at a higher height to not stress your lawn out, and yes it is okay to mow your leaves. Mow over them a couple of times to chop them up very fine and they will add more nutrients into your yard!
Aerate your lawn.
Fertilize your lawn.
Let nature continue with rain, freezing temperatures and snow afterwards. During the winter grass will look a little brown but things will perk right up in spring!
It’s all about preparation and routine for your lawn. If you take care of it the results will come in time!
Happy clean ups!
