Job Description Position Title: Crew Member

Position Overview
The crew member is a landscaper that assists the crew foreman and owner. The position works with a team and is responsible for landscape maintenance and enhancement projects under the direction of the crew foreman. This position is able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of horticulture practices. Job sites are commercial, residential properties & HOA’s.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Completes landscape maintenance duties in a timely manner to meet the company productivity targets. This includes mowing, weed control, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, edging and pruning.
2. Completes landscape enhancement projects such as mulch applications, plantings, top soil application, lawn seeding and may also include assistance in tree installations.
3. Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work sites and equipment.
4. Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to: commercial mowers, blowers, string trimmers, dump trailers, chain saws and tilers.
5. If approved, safely operates vehicles such as trucks and trailers.
6. Assists crew foreman with communication with clients by answering questions and providing top notch customer service assuring all the customer needs. Communicates concerns to the crew foreman to handle.
7. Cares for equipment and notifies crew foreman of needed repairs.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience
1. Individual will have a working knowledge of standard horticulture practices. This includes mowing, weed control, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, edging, pruning and snow removal.
2. This position requires a high school diploma, GED or higher.
3. One year of landscaping experience is a plus but not required.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, time management, mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills are a must.
5. Ohio driver’s license and car insurance.
6. Experience with tree installations is a plus.
7. Hardscape experience such as brick, block and stone is a plus.

Physical demands
-Employee is regularly required to stand, crouch, stoop or kneel.
-The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
-While performing the duties of this job employee may be exposed to weather conditions (wet, humid & cold)
